How long should I expect my first visit to last?
You should allow 45 minutes of consultation time with your provider and a few minutes for registration and check-out. Our office forms are available on this website should you prefer to prepare in advance and shorten the registration time.

How confidential is my visit?
The time you spend with your provider is completely confidential and we can only disclose your protected health information after you have given written consent. However, your written consent is not required to release information when it is so mandated by the court or in instances when you pose as a significant threat to the safety of yourself or others. (For further information see Client Privacy Notice located in office forms.)

Can I use my insurance plan to pay for services rendered?
Some of our providers are recognized in traditional health insurance-based payment systems, while others have practices that are "self-pay" only.
If you consult with a practitioner here who is recognized by your health insurance or HMO plan, he/she will submit claims for services on your behalf. You will therefore be responsible for only your co-payments at the time of service once you have met any deductible that might apply, and reimbursement for the balance will subsequently be paid by your plan to the provider.

What if my provider does not participate with my health insurance plan?
If you consult with a practitioner here who does not participate in your health insurance or HMO plan, you will be responsible for payment in full for each service at or before the time of service. If you would then like to submit claims for reimbursement to your health insurance or HMO plan, we will be happy to provide you the appropriate documentation to include with your claim forms. Then, any reimbursements your plan provides will be delivered directly to you.
If you are a Medicare recipient and your provider does not participate, then Medicare will not allow you to submit a claim for reimbursement. In this instance you must sign a contract of understanding. This contract along with other helpful information in this process is available at the Forms link on our website; see "Important Instructions for Filing Your Own Insurance Claims" and "Medicare Contract".

Should I submit my receipts to my insurance company for reimbursement?
To protect your privacy and future insurance costs, we often recommend that you not submit your receipts to your health insurance company for reimbursement unless it is absolutely financially necessary.
